Foundry Operative

Tandom Metallurgical group, are seeking foundry operatives to join the melting team at our Congleton site. This medium sized Cheshire East facility deals with many varied aluminium recycling and production processes and is the national recycling centre for a leading brand of coffee pods.

Foundry Operative duties include:

- Operation of furnace equipment to produce a range of aluminium based alloys.
- Preparation and handling of materials manually and using mobile plant.
- Visual inspection, quality control and packing of finished materials.
- Following written instructions and recording related data associated with production.
- Maintenance of a safe working environment.

The foundry operates on two different 12hr shift systems dependent on process:
The first shift system is a two week cycle as follows: Week 1 - 06:00-18:00 days Mon-Thu; Week 2 -18:00-06:00 nights Mon-Wed. The base rate of pay is £22,500 per annum plus a shift allowance of £80 per week making the effective rate of pay of £26,660 per annum.

The second is an eight day cycle, consisting of: two days 06:00 - 18:00, followed by two nights 18:00 - 06:00, followed by four days off. As such, this system involves periods of weekend working. The base rate of pay is £25,000 per annum plus a shift allowance £105 per week, making the effective rate of pay £30,460 per annum.
