**Who we are looking for**:

- Experience of writing engaging content
- A keen eye for a story and an understanding of what drives audiences
- An understanding of how to optimise content to adhere to SEO best practice
- Capable of producing fast and accurate copy to deadlines, and an awareness of writing different article formats, from explainers and listicles to news stories
- Demonstrable ability to come up with original content ideas and accurately predict what readers will be looking for and talking about
- Comfortable in a fast-paced media environment with the organisational skills to plan ahead
- Demonstrable familiarity with analytics tools
- A team player: able to work closely with digital colleagues across the business

**Skills/experience**
- An understanding of SEO principles and best practice
- Experience of working in a news environment
- A strong writer with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Video and audio skills
- Previous experience of using a website content management system
- A good knowledge of using social media as a means of reaching audiences
- Experience in using SEO tools such as Google Trends
- Experience in using analytics tools such as Chartbeat or Parse.ly
- Knowledge of media law and the Editor’s Code of Practice
