The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our busy and growing organisation. The Maintenance Engineer will ensure production downtimes are kept to a minimum through the overall maintenance and repair of the manufacturing site through electrical and mechanical work where required. We will consider part-qualified engineers who are willing to train and learn, on the job as well as participate in professional development in order to meet career aspirations.
**Key Responsibilities**

Deliver daily KPI requirements via machine uptime activity.
Ensure all work requests are reacted to quickly and effectively to resolve production issues.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance using their technical expertise and have an ability to identify machine reliability improvements.
Identify and control critical spares usage to deliver fast effective repairs.
Acknowledge customer work requests and report progress till satisfactory completion.
Always operate in line with safe working practices.
Communication of any issues or priorities between shifts.
Record machine history and breakdown data using CMMS.
Undertake training as required to carry out the job function.

**Essential skills and experience: **

Previous experience in a hands-on maintenance capacity within a fast-moving manufacturing environment
High levels of technical skills
Demonstrable Fault-finding capabilities electrical and mechanical
Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience
Relevant engineering qualifications
Strong computer skills
Knowledge of PLC fault finding
Full & valid driving licence
**Desirable skills and experience: **

Guard regulation knowledge or qualification
Experience of auto welding machines
18th Edition
IPAF Licence
