**About the Company**

Elite Swimming Academy was established in 2007, shortly after our founder swam solo across the English Channel in 14 hours. The Company was born from his passion for passing the knowledge and wisdom of the sport. He identified a clear need for high-end private swimming tuition with a personal touch and five-star customer service.

The company has grown from doing just one or two lessons per week to teaching an average of 1000 children and adults every week, from complete beginners through to fitness swimmers, triathletes and even members of the British Team Small classes combined with innovative teaching techniques and the highest quality teachers & coaches are why we get such fast results in our students.

**Location**

Our pools are mainly Cambridge-based, but we also offer lessons in Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, and St Neots.

**Opportunities for training**

Having a swimming teaching qualification would be great; however, it’s not essential as we are able to offer you a swimming teaching qualification when you join us. What’s most important, whether you’re qualified or not, is that you have a demonstrable passion for and interest in swimming that you want to pass on and share with others.

**Key Responsibilities and Deliverables**

During term time, the role of Swimming Teacher involves teaching children to swim in classes with a maximum of 3 students and outside term time, you will be involved in teaching 121 lessons and crash courses.

Your role will involve:

- Planning and delivering lessons to suit each swimmer in the class
- Ensuring safe provision and correct use of all equipment
- Establishing and making sure that safety standards are followed in every lesson
- Identifying participants’ abilities and encouraging them to reach their full potential
- Providing explanations and demonstrating swimming techniques
- Correcting faults in swimming techniques and identifying ways to improve performance

**Other Responsibilities**
- Being a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming
- Setting ground rules for each session
- Evaluating sessions and giving constructive feedback
- Regularly assessing each participant’s ability and progress
- Attending team meetings and training sessions as needed
- Agreeing to abide by a code of conduct and carrying out duties in accordance with BASS and site policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, etc.

**Working Relationships**

You will be working closely with a team of highly qualified and experienced swimming teachers. Our team are very friendly and always willing to share knowledge and expertise - you’ll be teaching with and learning from the best

**Major Challenges**

As a Swimming Teacher with ESA, you’ll be part of the team while having lots of freedom and autonomy to run lessons the way you think best. You’ll have the best of both worlds and the only challenge is for you to make the most of this opportunity to share your knowledge, expertise and passion for swimming.

**Career Progression**

You will have the opportunity to continually grow and develop your knowledge and skills as a teacher while you’re part of the ESA team and if you wish, you can progress to Senior Teacher level.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: From £21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 25 per week
