Reporting to the R&T Manager, this is an opportunity for an experienced and entrepreneurial R&D professional to join a FTSE 100 organisation with a strategic focus on expanding our Biopharmaceutical technology.

**Essentials**:
- Educated to degree or PhD level in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bioengineering or a related discipline
- Experience in formulation of biologics, small molecule, excipients screening, stability testing is required
- Background in developing and troubleshooting a broad range of analytical techniques for excipient and formulation characterisation
- Strong project management skills to effectively design and lead internal and external innovation projects
- Knowledge of developing injectable dosage forms for preclinical & clinical use, this will include formulation development and product characterisation
- Experience of working in a regulatory environment, ideally GMP/GLP, good knowledge of regulations impacting areas of work (e.g. EP/USP/ICH)
**Desirables**:
- An in-depth understanding of protein biochemistry and/or protein biophysics is desirable
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide an innovative and solutions orientated approach to customer problems, working with key members of our R&T group to develop and prove new formulations and opportunities
- Use a creative and viable approach to support new product launches and existing product ranges, including development of new test methodologies
- Be recognised as an authority in the usage of excipients within pharmaceutical industry and represent Croda through presentations at trade exhibitions and conferences, scientific publications and collaboration with Croda manufacturing sites and customers
- Provide product support and guidance to customers according to the regional and global development plans. Develop solutions to the customer problems
- Work with open innovation partners to develop and lead key partnerships with universities and associations
