**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one support and assistance to students with autism within a special needs unit.
- Create and implement individualised learning plans based on student's needs and abilities.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic development.
- Utilise appropriate behaviour management strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviours effectively.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement individualised intervention strategies.
- Monitor and document student progress, behaviours, and achievements.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in autism support.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience working with individuals with autism and challenging behaviours, preferably within a special needs or autism-specific setting.
- A deep understanding of autism and its associated characteristics, challenges, and interventions.
- Knowledge of various behaviour management techniques and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and resources.
- Relevant qualifications in special education, psychology, or a related field would be advantageous.
