**About this opportunity**:
**Your work environment**: We now have a vacancy for a **Plant Buyer**, based at Peterborough (UK). The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager UK and functionally to the Supply Chain Director Bevcan EMEA. This is an incredible opportunity to join Crown in a brand-new role and become one of the ‘first feet on the ground’ staff for the new Plant.

**Your Mission in Crown**
The jobholder will provide a cost effective procurement service for all production materials, packaging, machine spares, all other inventory and non-inventory items and services (e.g. Catering, cleaning, etc). In liaison and close co-ordination with the Regional Purchasing Manager, this varied role will mainly consist of local Supplier Sourcing and Selection, Price and Leadtime Negotiation, local Supplier Relationship Management including hosting regular meetings and attending supplier visits, in addition to RFQ and PO Placement activities. You organise and maintain all aspects of the Procurement Supply Chain with full cooperation and collaboration with Central Sourcing Team and commodity leaders. You reconcile the goods receipts with supplier invoices before handing over them to Accounting department for payment process. You check Orders and Invoices in case of a discrepancy and/or dispute, providing assistance in the resolution of relevant invoice queries. You manage supplier returns and claims in liaison with the Plant Quality Department.

**About you**:
You should have an understanding of Purchasing best practices with continuous improvement tools and problem-solving and decision making skills. Self-starter and team working skills are essential as well as excellent negotiation and persuasive skills. You should be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. Fluency in English, another language an advantage.
