Derby, United Kingdom NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB Full time

Are you driven by a desire to ensuring local citizens are at the heart of local health and care service planning and provision?

Do you have experience of using a range of physical and digital methods to seek the views of service users?

Are you passionate about reaching those groups who public services rarely hear from?

This is an exciting opportunity to recognise Joined Up Care Derbyshire's strategic aim to put our partnership with the citizens at the forefront our our planning and transformation, to improve the health and wellbeing of adults and children in Derby and Derbyshire.

You will be responsible for developing, managing and reporting on engagement plans for campaigns and projects linked to ICB and JUCD priorities. This might include plans that are sometimes highly contentious and emotive.

The day to day work will vary, requiring flexibility and often managing multiple, competing priorities. At the core of the work will be providing expert engagement advice and support to senior managers and clinicians, with co-design and co-production at the core and in line with best practice and the legal duty to involve.

The role requires someone with a wide range of experience of view-seeking methodologies including surveys, interviews, focus groups and using digital platforms. You will be as comfortable out in the field as you will be compiling the reviews into reports that inform decision-making. You will have a proven ability to build and foster relationships with local stakeholder groups and communities, including seldom engaged voices, minority ethnic communities and protected characteristic communities, ensuring all our work promotes our values of inclusivity and promoting diversity.

NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board are responsible for planning, monitoring, and paying for health services in Derby and Derbyshire. Serving a total population of 1,053,000 with a budget of over £1.6 billion the ICB has a staff base of approximately 500 people.

We are passionate about making diversity and inclusion part of our DNA. We have staff engagement forums, a diversity and inclusion network run by and for our people and aim for a workforce demography representative of the local community. Together, we are building an inclusive culture, where difference is celebrated and people feel able to bring their whole self to work.

We are a disability confident employer and offer a range of family friendly, flexible working arrangements and inclusive employment policies, to support our people in the workplace.

Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern.

As well as engaging, the role will require some time spent supporting our citizen involvement pages on our website, and providing stories of innovation and best practice from across the system to raise the profile of the ICB and Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

This post exists as part of our wider engagement team to ensure citizen's voices are heard in the planning and delivery of health and care services. It requires someone with the dual ability to work with members of the public and patients to understand their views, and the ability to concisely and comprehensively report that back into projects to inform decision-making.
