**Purpose of Role**
The purpose of the role is to provide strong leadership and management to the Warehouse Operational Teams
Ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient customer focused Airfreight service for our customers, in line with legislation, industry standards/best practice, customs compliance, organisational policies & procedure, whilst ensuring delivery of monthly/quarterly/annualprofitability growth targets for Operations within the department.
To plan & implement continuous improvement projects (i.e. Resource planning, WMS implementation) by generating project mandates & delivering these mandates through the relevant teams with operational support where necessary.
To ensure high standards of Safety, Quality and Security for their area of responsibility.
To drive solution designing for air freight operations and optimum warehouse space utilization Proactively support and input into the Strategic Department Business Plan and annual Budget planning process, including the development and implementation of an Operationaland Customer Excellence Strategy which delivers growth and profitability targets, and define and implement clear operational goals and activities for themselves and their teams aligned to the plans.
To understand and deliver best practice process consistently across all shifts
**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**
- To be fully responsible and accountable for leading and managing the Operational teams for the department in order to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual growth and profitability targets, including building performance through excellent people management/leadershipskills and practices.
- Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a continuous improvement plan and culture which can integrate into the Company's QSHE systems
- Drive measurements (KPIs) in safety, quality, and productivity alongside actively seeking ways of improving efficiency, performance and reducing costs throughout the operation
- Ensure business processes are standardized & well documented
- Perform and manage audits of quality system to required level and close on corrective actions.
- Drive & develops solutions for optimization of floor space including but not limited to scoping non bonded storage solution and exploring avenues of ancillary revenue generation
- Customer Services - To maintain an ongoing understanding of the customers' business enabling the operation to develop SOP's to meet and exceed customer needs
- To ensure customer inquiries, customer problems, complaints and escalations are fully investigated and responded to promptly
- Ensure general administration for CI/QSHE for warehouse is completed to highest level of standard and compliance and abide to the Compliance Policies and Procedures of the Company.
- Ensure the effective implementation of, and compliance with all UK/Ireland legislation, industry standards, customs compliance regulations, and Company policies and procedures/SOPS, including updates, throughout the department, and ensure that any audits/spotchecks that are required are appropriately supported and actions are followed up and completed within the deadlines provided.
- Effectively manages performance of their direct reports to ensure they are able to deliver the requirements of their job role and for future progression, providing appropriate support, guidance coaching and development and undertaking effective performancereviews, 1:1's and performance improvement plans
- Ensuring effective communication flows are developed and maintained within and across their teams, ensuring all staff are well informed and feel that their views and inputs are listened to.
- Ensuring effective resource planning and management to meet customer and business requirements
- To manage the financial performance and volume of the operation to ensure the achievement/maximisation of the department's monthly, quarterly and annual growth and profitability financial targets
- Contribute to annual business planning and budgeting processes - effective management and development of the Gross Profit targets and volume - Supporting business project with estimation of project costing, CAPEX, OPEX investment processes & also assistwith the estimation of running costs or warehouse
- Ensures others are working in a way that complies with legislation and Company policies and procedures on health, safety and security and risk management, take the necessary action in relation to risks, and investigate accidents or incidents in line withpolicies and procedures - ensures that audits are appropriately supported where required and actions are followed up and completed within the deadlines provided - To ensure that an appropriate working environment, resources and facilities are provided to meetbusiness/customer/employee requirements
- Promotes, monitors and maintains an environment and culture that improves Health, Safety, Quality and Security with their Teams, this includes robust processes are in place to ensure that employees within the Department/within their teams receive suitableinduction training, information about emergency procedures and training appropriate to meet their/roles needs - Report hazards in your work or in your work environment that may be putting your or anyone else's Health & Safety at risk.
