**Job Summary**

The key function of the ‘Make Ready’ role is to ensure that vehicles meet the operational and clinical standards required across a 7 day operational period.

To ensure vehicles are clinically cleaned to Infection Protection Control (IPC) standards, and consumable load list checks completed (as appropriate) and essential equipment is in date and presented to a high standard.

To ensure that the vehicles meets the required Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliancy standards and thus ensuring the promotion of a positive image of the company in terms of appearance and cleanliness. Make Ready Operative - is a critical role in ensuring patient safety and quality of care by ensuring vehicles are operationally available, in a IPC compliant and timely manner.

**Main Duties & Responsiblitlies**
- Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are deep cleaned thoroughly and effectively to stringent IPC policy standards, to the agreed schedule and in a timely manner.
- Ensure your work space is kept clean and tidy and maintain a safe working environment.
- To date check and record asset number on medical device equipment, and carry out function and user tests as appropriate. Report any faults to the and take remedial action to ensure vehicles are ready for operational use.
- To date check consumables and ensure vehicles are re-stocked to load lists as per the standard Vehicle and Equipment policy and remove stock as appropriate.
- To maintain a working knowledge of relevant policy and procedures.
- To undertake vehicle swabbing to audit the quality and effectiveness of the vehicle deep clean.
- Monitor stock usage of the cleaning products and reorder as necessary as per policy and procedures to manage efficient and cost-effective stock control
- Ensure the safe transit and security of all items that are transported.
- Aware of own and others role and responsibilities within the department in order to work as an effective complementary part of the team.
- Be proactive in identifying and providing solutions to issues encountered within the role and assist the department with continuously monitoring and improving its service level standard.
- Carry out any other duties commensurate with the post as directed e.g. Oil, Tyre & Water Checks.
- To maintain driving compliance within Health and Safety and road traffic regulations.
- The checking of vehicles prior to use and notifying the Workshops of any defects or potential defects to the vehicle, however insignificant they may seem, to the appropriate person according to the policies and procedures of the department.
- On delivery of the vehicle to a workstation ensure vehicle is fit for purpose and ready operationally as per the relevant checklists and policies.
- At all times the post holder must consider the safety of the vehicle and the public, and maintain the good reputation of the Company.
- To maintain written/computerised records to record work carried out on vehicles and equipment on a daily basis to maintain a full history of vehicle compliance.
- To ensure safe use of vehicles under Health and Safety regulations and COSHH guidelines and IPC standards
- All staff should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain excellent working relations with colleagues, staff and other departments in accordance with Our Values.

**Education & Qualifications**
- General all round education, to include basic numeracy and literacy
- Full driving license with maximum of 6 penalty points and able to meet the standard of the internal driving assessment.
- Ability to meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for their role; successfully complete relevant training for the role

- Good communication skills
- Ability to complete basic documentation
- Ability to work to procedures in a systematic way
- Work with minimum supervision to a very high standard
- Be computer literate.
- Good time management
- The physical requirements of the job include lifting and carrying and washing and preparing vehicles

- Be prepared to work flexible hours, and rota’s across a 7 day operating pattern including weekends, and bank holidays with flexible start and finish times.
