We are a leading technology venture debt firm, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to play a key role in helping drive our European growth. This is a unique opportunity to work with one of the most active debt investors in the North Americantechnology sector. Founded in 2009, we have funded over 300 companies working closely with many of North America’s leading sponsors. The firm currently has offices in Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles and London.
After successfully completing several deals within the UK and building the origination team, we are looking to add an experienced credit and underwriting professional to work as part of its core venture debt investment team in London. This provides an attractiveand unique opportunity for a high calibre individual to assume significant levels of responsibility and play an important role in the strategy and continued growth of the venture lending business in Europe. As a senior member of the credit team, you will playa central role in credit and underwriting strategy, expanding the business in-market, and growing the UK-based loan portfolio
Responsibility of the Venture Debt Credit and Portfolio Director
- Responsible for the underwriting of venture debt deals within the UK and Europe
- Leading potential transactions along side the origination team, focusing primarily on due diligence, analysis, underwriting and supervising overall transaction execution.
- Represent the firm at sector specific industry conferences and events.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company investment philosophy and credit discipline.
- Provide ongoing relationship management to existing clients with monthly reporting and management of deals
- Further expand market awareness of the brand within the UK technology sector
- Make a positive impact on the people around you by being a team player and an effective project manager, developing strong working relationships, and demonstrating strong commitment to the team’s goals consistent with emphasis on a cooperative and supportivework environment.
Requirements of the Venture Debt Credit and Portfolio Director
- 8 to 15 years relevant experience, including venture debt credit, leverage finance or cashflow lending credit, venture capital, or other related roles.
- Prior experience of making debt and/or equity investments to private software, SaaS, and tech related services companies.
- Established, strong relationships with tech VCs, growth equity funds, banks, and other sector participants.
- Track record of success in all aspects of credit and risk and relationship management
- Strong credit or equity structuring and underwriting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Passion to exceed objectives and to be part of a growth-oriented organisation
- Strong team-oriented approach with an ability to work independently
