**Salary**
£26,415 per annum.

**Purpose of Role**
This role is responsible for carrying out general building trades works as a key part of the School’s Maintenance team, to a high standard.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Complete a variety of maintenance trades tasks as requested in a timely manner and to a high standard on the full range of School properties.
- Work will include but is not limited to the following:
carpentry and joinery tasks and projects

door installation and hanging

plumbing tasks such as repairing sanitation systems, fitting domestic appliances, repairing leaks to taps and drainage systems and repairing rainwater and drainage pipes

plastering tasks such as patch plastering, plaster boarding and dry lining, floating and skimming and external rendering

floor and wall tiling

painting and decorating
- Accurately assess and measure proposed works, quantifying labour and materials and organising both resources in conjunction with the rest of the maintenance team in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carry out all works accurately, safely and to current guidelines and regulations.
- Complete periodic maintenance tasks as when required to do so.
- Provide suitable assistance to other tradesmen as and when required to do so.
- Acting in a supervisory role for minor projects and repair works as required to do so by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Provide on-call cover on a rota basis for out of hours emergencies from time to time.
- Undertaking other reasonable tasks promptly and efficiently if required to do so
- Provide cover and assist other members of the team as required.
- Any other duties as required, and commensurate with the role.

It is to be noted that some of the tasks in this role involve working at heights, and can be of a repetitive manual nature.

**Person Specification**

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- NVQ L3 or equivalent in a core trade, or Heights & Scaffold Tower qualification by experience
- Certificate in Working at Heights and Scaffold Tower

**EXPERIENCE**
- Demonstrable experience of working in a core trade
- Working knowledge to a competent level in at least one trade
- Up to date knowledge of applicable guidelines and regulations
- Experience of working in large properties
