Job Description:
**Role: Pathways Service Coordinator**

**Hours**: full time - 37.5 hours per week (possibility for flexible hours)

**Location**: Old Street, London (hybrid 3 days in office 2 days home), occasional travel and overnight stays

**Salary**: £26,000

**Contract type**: Permanent, after 6-month probation period

**Benefits**:

Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays and Christmas to New Year. (+1 day for every year worked, up to a maximum of 5)

Pension scheme: 3% employer: 5% employee contribution

**About Blind in Business**:
BiB are a charity that supports visually impaired young people into employment and higher education. **Our goal is to build confidence, raise aspirations and increase employability.** We achieve this by supporting and empowering young people through running events, workshops and providing advice on a 1:1 basis. We also work with employers to create bespoke work experience and internship placements to give our students their first steps on the pathway into the working world.

As a result, the role of Pathways Service Coordinator is at the heart of what we do. Along with our Pathways Service Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape our approach to the work experience and training workshops that we deliver for students under the age of 18, making a direct positive impact on the lives of the young people that we support.

Main duties:

- To assist in the delivery and development of Blind in Business Training workshops and work experience program
- Design and deliver workshops for school-age students online and in person
- Encourage mentoring and the use of role models through our alumni network to inspire younger students into work
- Build and maintain relationships with employers to secure work experience, paid placements and insight webinars
- Build and maintain relationships with referral partners such as local councils, Qualified Teachers of Vision Impairment, and charities, to increase opportunities for the young people they work with
- Ensure spreadsheets and student information is up to date
- Be positive and empathetic to young people who lose their sight at a young age

Person Specification:
Essential:

- Enthusiasm for working with children, students, and young people
- Confidence in designing and running training programmes and workshops
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised and able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Good interpersonal skills and comfortable public speaking
- Competent in MS Office systems
- Good team and collaboration skills

Desired:

- Background or interest in disability advocacy
- Experience in end-to-end project management
- Experience in training workshop design and delivery
- Experience of safeguarding
- Knowledge of access technology
