Facilities Supervisor - Band 3

Permanent - Full Time (37.5 hours)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates and Facilities Department. We are currently seeking a Facilities Community Supervisor to work within the Facilities Team working across various sites.

The Facilities Community Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high quality reception service to staff, patients, visitors and external contractors and responsible for the purchasing, requisitioning and receipting of goods and stock.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the reception service across sites under Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust which operates across 15 premises, includes Health Centre’s, GP Practices, Primary Care Centres and BCHC Trust Head Quarters. The sites where we operate a reception service include a mixture of freehold and accommodation occupied by BCHC staff and services in buildings not owned by the Trust.

This role will require the ability to lead, work under pressure, able to work to deadlines, work on own initiative, motivate a team and organised and being flexible which is critical for this role in an ever changing environment.

The main duties of the role encompasses managing the day to day supervision of all the Community Receptionists and will be responsible for the purchasing, requisitioning and receipting of goods and stock for the Receptionist Service in the Community.

- Responsible for overseeing the standards of the cleaning contract at the Trust Head Quarters in line with the National Specification of Cleanliness reporting to the Facilities Premises Officer
- Responsible for the safe and effective delivery of the Reception and Portering Services in the Community Sites
- To act as the first point of call for any day to day issues and queries for the Community Receptionists and Porter staff
- Undertake all aspects of the Community Receptionist and Porter roles as and when required
- Undertake regular 1:1’s with the Community Receptionists and Porter Staff
- Responsible for the development of staff rotas using MAPS/ESR and reviewing the duty rotas in consultation with the Facilities Premises Officer ensuring all services across the sites are covered
- Responsible for managing the annual leave requests for the Community Receptionists and Porter staff ensuring cover is provided at all times
- Ensure the best use of bank staff to cover absences, adding bank shifts onto health roster on a monthly basis and finalising bank sheets on a weekly basis
