Basic Pay Rate from: £13.11ph
Overtime Rates from: £19.67ph - £26.22ph

gap personnel Exeter are currently recruiting for Manufacturing Operators based within the Finishing department at global manufacturing giants Howmet Aerospace, located at Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, EX2.

You will be joining a company of innovators and makers. Howmet are transforming the future of flying and driving with high-performance engineered solutions that are paired with advanced manufacturing expertise. The site help make quieter, more fuel-efficient engines for airplanes and gas turbines. Their market-leading aluminium wheels help trucks save fuel and reduce maintenance while rolling in style.

The role of a Manufacturing Operator is a key position within not only the operations of the site, but also within the supply chain into both the aerospace and gas industries. The site is solely focused on 2 factors: Quality & Safety.

As a Manufacturing Operator within the Finishing department your main responsibilities are:

- Preparing and finishing of all products before dispatch
- Use of hand polishers, fine polishing, deburring, blemish removal and cleaning
- Ensuring all items match customer specification and quality
- Final quality and inspection checks
- High level of focus around EH&S.
- Attention to detail and strong quality focus.
- Working flexibly within a small team to ensure all process roles are covered.
- Following Howmet Business System (HSB) principles to drive strong product efficiency. (Participating in problem solving and improvement activities).
- To carry out any other reasonable duty as may be required.

This role can be physically challenging with items weighing between 10-15kg which are required to be safely moved or loaded throughout the shift.

Within this department, you will benefit from having experience or transferable skills such as; Previous workshop experience, hand finishing, polishing, deburring, quality control, inspection,
