**LS-TEN is a charity based in Hunslet in Leeds, we have three strands of work Community, Education and Skatepark.** **The Community Team is looking to recruit a Lead Sports Coach with a focus on Quad / Roller skating.**

**MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB**

To lead and coach rollerskate sessions with groups and individuals from different backgrounds, ages and abilities at locations all over the city and during School Holidays at LS-TEN Get Active Camps. To nurture and support in the development of new and existing talent, creating a supportive and positive environment within sessions.

With responsibility for health and safety within their environment including first aid and safeguarding, coaches will provide instruction and guidance to keep riders, learners, customers and visitors safe.

You'll work in a team with an assistant coach, who you will be responsible for to give instructions on the day on how to best facilitate the sessions.

**Duties: -**
- Deliver coaching sessions that are participant-centred, structured, progressive, fun and of a high quality.
- Undertake the necessary planning for each activity session by consulting with the Community Manager.
- Adapt approach in sessions to cater for different ranges of ability and development age.
- Undertake administrative tasks associated with the post under line management instruction, including planning sessions, taking registers, consent forms and conducing monitoring and evaluation.
- Be a positive role model and ambassador for related extreme sports and the organisation at all times.
- Ensure all equipment associated with the coaching programme is correctly set up, maintained, stored and returned on completion of the coaching programme.
- Be familiar and comply with LS-TEN health and safety regulations and to undertake activity/venue risk assessments prior to all sessions, and report and record incidents/accidents/hazards.
- Partake in appropriate training and deliver basic First Aid where required
- Respect the rights of all participants and ensure that their well-being and safety are considered at all times.
- Work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties not specifically covered in the job description, when assigned by the line manager.
- Complete skatepark duty list to comply with policies and procedures.
- Work closely with assistant coach and giving clear instructions on how they are to best support the session.

**Essential**:

- Coaching and delivery experience in wheeled sports (preferably Rollerskating and/or Scootering)
- **Have a full driving license**
- **Willingness to work evenings, weekends and school holidays in line with business needs.**
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to participate and provide demonstrations of key activities relating to inline skating, rollerskating and/or scootering.
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Ability to monitor and evaluate own coaching sessions in order to continually improve
- Ability to inspire, motivate and encourage young people through sport
- Self-motivation and ability to work under own initiative
- A commitment to continuous professional development
- Reliable with strong time management
- Awareness of the current performance standards and techniques in extreme sports

**Desirable**:

- Experience of coaching adults
- Experience of completing administration tasks relating to coaching (registers, consent forms, evaluating sessions etc)
