We now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner to become part our team. You will have experience of working with young people, with a relevant qualification to support this.

The postholder will work to assist YoutherapY staff to carry out agreed tasks within the team. With particular responsibility for client engagement and participation. The duties will include assisting in assessments, plans of care and interventions with young people referred to the service. Under the supervision of a senior member of the service, the post holder will work in a variety of settings including schools, children’s centres and primary care centres, reporting complex issues to senior staff.

You will be joining a well-established team of therapists, Primary Mental Health Workers, and senior practitioners. As part of the team, you will
provide support to the work of the clinical team in order to boost their capacity to meet clinical demand. You will work, under supervision, with
young people, parents and carers in a variety of ways. Including providing assessment, advice and group work to clients aged 11-25 with
psychological and emotional difficulties, under the guidance and supervision of senior staff members.

Providing assessment, advice and group work to the client group, their families and carers.

Developing good working relationships with colleagues, children/families/partner agencies/schools and other professionals.

Recruiting and retaining new members of the Youth Team.

The YoutherapY team have a strong work ethic of support for each other, with all team members seen as equals.

The service has been established for many years and is now expanding to encompass different roles with a range of professionals and dedicated admin staff.

We have an ethos of person-centred service for our clients as well as good self-care being encouraged within the team. This also extends to each other as colleagues, leading to a strong and motivated team.

The post will work to assist YoutherapY staff to carry out agreed tasks within the team. The duties will include assisting in assessments, plans of care and interventions with young people referred to the service; and involvement in client engagement and participation.

**Which include but are not limited to**: offering an initial assessment to the young people who contact our service, which would involve offering them a safe space to talk freely and openly about their experiences and reasons for engaging in therapy.
