Main purpose of job:
To effectively manage and lead a team of operators to deliver the Cell and Business KPI’s (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Engagement)

Main responsibilities:

- Ensure the daily execution of the vatting plan and that appropriate action is taken when the plan is deviated from or at risk.
- Leads shift-based team meetings to a defined standard code of conduct and agenda.
- Conducts shift handovers alongside opposite shift team leaders to have a seamless transition between shifts.
- Represents the shift with effective data and background at the Tier 2 Daily Operations Review (DOR) meeting.
- Drives Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) through routine RCPS Investigations, actions & weekly review meeting.
- Support and manages Operators through annual performance and development processes and agrees actions and development plans.
- Ensures that all aspects of regulatory and company compliance is adhered to and role models this to the team at all times (Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality, CoMAH, HMRC, SSOW and SOT’s).
- Supports investigation of quality holds, customer complaints and downward AQL trends, using CI tools to identify root cause and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support all Focus Improvement activity. Take ownership for the performance of all spirit processes. Proactively investigate and identify issues and areas of improvement. Use team to develop effective and sustainable solutions. Support high level of NPD and the processes associated.
- Trains, develops, and empowers a team of between 10 and 20 highly skilled level 4 operators, utilising SSOW and OPL’s and the Operator One to One process to drive ongoing personal and team development. Provide daily updates to operations team to be transparent and communicate expectations.
- Effectively conducts team meetings (reviews the team's performance, discusses the day's work plan, keeps the team informed, and allows for feedback).
- Engages in work planning and control (for example, establishes daily inputs and outputs, allocates work to team members, arranges overtime, and manages leave, training, and absence).
- Manages handovers effectively (for example, records relevant shift data for handover, ensures disciplined handover, ensures that checklists and inventory records are updated and does face-to-face handovers as required).
- Completes people related administration tasks (for example, completes attendance documentation, administers overtime records, coordinates leave, and deals with salary and wage queries).

Experience required:

- Experience in similar operational / manufacturing environment (FMCG) in a leadership role.
- Experience in working with LEAN Manufacturing principles (SUTR, 5s, RCPS, etc).

Qualifications / Skills required:

- Degree or equivalent qualifications / experience in Business / Engineering or Science discipline.
