Lounge Steward

We are looking for a cheerful and outgoing person with great customer care skills to join our friendly team to work in our hotel bar.

This is a full-time role of approximately **35 - 40 hours per week **with varied shifts, including some evenings and weekends.

Budock Vean Hotel is about 6 miles from Falmouth/Penryn so having your own transport is important. There is a live in option for anyone needing to relocate and takes a full time role. And if transport is an issue, then get in touch and talk to us, lets see how we can help solve that.

Being by the Helford River is great if you like being out on the water, or in it, during your time off. Some of the team are keen fishermen, wild swimmers, and we've got kayaking and paddle boarding from our private foreshore. There's also some fantastic coastal walks nearby and some of the team cycle to work.

The Budock Vean Hotel is a 4 star independent family run hotel set in 65 acres by the banks of the Helford River, 6 miles from Falmouth/Penryn, and was awarded Silver in the Large Hotel of the Year category at the Cornwall Tourism Awards and also at the South West Tourism Awards last year.

The hotel itself has 49 bedrooms, bar, spa, restaurant, golf course, tennis courts, boating and kayaking plus 7 self catering properties. The hotel restaurant has a great reputation for it's modern British cuisine, with fish dishes a speciality.

**More about the job role....**
- Providing the highest level of service of drinks, bar snacks and afternoon teas in the Cocktail Bar, lounges and gardens.
- Lunchtime and evening table service - welcoming guests prior to dinner, taking drinks orders, and any orders for casual dining in the lounge/bar area.
- Ensuring that the bar and lounge areas are kept clean and tidy at all times; tables cleared and wiped down, cushions plumped up, chairs rearranged, papers and waste paper cleared away.
- Be friendly and helpful to guests at all times and engage in conversation as time and occasion allows.
- To deal with any customer enquiries and complaints during the course of service, taking action as appropriate and reporting back to management on steps taken.
- In the winter months ensure the open fires are kept going throughout the day and evening.
- Prepare lounges for functions, weddings & conferences and attend to conference requirements in accordance with function sheets.
- Assist guests with information and helpful advice about the local area and things to do.
- Assist with deliveries and ensuring they go to correct departments and where necessary sign off (e.g. brewery deliveries).
