Credit Control Assistant

**_Purpose of the job_**:

- All aspects of administration relating to Credit Control
- To maximise cash collection and minimise the level of overdue debt
- To control a portfolio of accounts on the sales ledger

**_Principal objectives and responsibilities_**:

- Download payments received into the bank
- Record and accurately allocate cash receipts in accordance with customer remittances, received by bank transfer, cheques, cash, PayPal, credit cards, and eBay.
- Process and reconcile payments received from Retail outlets
- Process online payments
- Process online refunds with authorisation
- Take cheques/cash to the bank as required
- Collect cash from the bank as required
- Reconcile credit card transactions to the bank receipts
- To be responsible for a portfolio of accounts, being proactive in collection of payments whilst maintaining good customer relationships
- Alert the manager to any accounts which are not meeting payment terms of the account or payment plan or any other concerns with an account
- Process small write offs
- Process write offs to Bad Debt with authorisation
- Investigate unallocated cash
- Maintain housekeeping on the Sales Ledger
- Provide copy documents as required by customers
- Ensure the accounts on well documented in the note section on the customer note pad
- Assist with customer queries for both internal and external customers to a satisfactory resolution
- Review customer held orders as required
- Suspend orders where appropriate, informing customers of this until a solution has been resolved
- Run Monthly statements as required
- Ensure ROT documents up to date
- Assist in opening of new accounts
- Any other ad hoc tasks as required
- To provide adequate cover for holidays and absence.
