Lab Technician

**Metalis** are working with a well established company who are a manufacturer of **chemicals and metals**. Based in **Rotherham**, they are looking for a Lab Technician / Granulation Technician who will be responsible for the continued smooth running of the Glatt Granulator, to join their growing team.

This role will be a days regular, **Monday to Friday** with the salary depending on what experience you have.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Setup, shutdown, and system clean of the Glatt Pro Cell granulator and ancillary process equipment.
- Process monitoring of the Glatt pro cell granulator, take appropriate actions to alter process parameters to ensure stable operation of process.
- Preparation of liquid oxide suspensions to include weighing, mixing and transfer of all process raw materials.
- Final processing and packing of oxide granule product to include product classification, wet and dry milling.
- Follow procedures, complete documentation and highlight any non-conformances
- Work in a safe and rigorous manner complying with companies Quality and HS&E policies.
- Monitor consumable levels, report inventory levels of spares and consumables on a regular basis
- Comply with good manufacturing practices: Maintain high levels of housekeeping and a safe working environment.
- Have sufficient understanding of the process and equipment so deviations from the norm are recognised and corrected before dangerous situations occur.
- Complete all required written documentation, including logging sheets and procedural forms.

**SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Operate and monitor plant for the production of granular metal oxide powder.
- Ensure plant equipment is operating within set guidelines.
- Accurately record important information from numerous data streams and collate for analysis.
- Disassemble, clean and reassemble all components relating to the Pro cell granulator and ancillary equipment.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Work on your own using your own initiative with ability to function as part of a wider operations team.
- Collaborate with other teams and business units of plant operations, Engineering and Technology.
- Carry out QC monitoring and appropriate quality checks of raw materials, in-process and final Oxide product quality.
- Carry out periodic calibrations/checks
- Support other departments in accordance with business needs.
