This post is based within Training and Skills Unit (TASU) that sits under the Operational Capabilities Command (OCC) within IE. TASU has responsibility for the delivery and co-ordination of operational enforcement along with other training nationally within Crime and Enforcement teams. TASU is a national resource responsible for operational enforcement training and operating procedures. Our work is high profile and extremely varied, which includes leading on the sharing of knowledge, skills and best practices through training.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the business support team that underpins the Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST) team’s ability to provide first class training to IE. The role will act as a liaison point with work force planners and other vacancy holders around the business to understand training requirements and to assist with the daily running of the PPST team and their courses for TASU.
The PPST team currently deliver a range of courses such as initial arrest and refresher courses, bespoke learning, specialist training such as Method of Entry and Aviation Custodial Training. This may be expanded or changed from time to time to suit business needs and support any ministerial priority.
TASU provides a framework for internally developed bespoke products for Immigration Compliance and Enforcement (ICE) Officers, Reporting Centres, Criminal Investigators, and other Immigration Enforcement teams.
Due to business needs this role is being offered on a full-time basis only.
There is no shift working requirement, and therefore no AHW allowance available for this post.
**Person specification**:
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Supporting the needs of the PPST business support team, and wider TASU priorities as and when required.
- Triaging joining instructions (JIs) returned by delegates.
- Raising any medical or additional needs highlighted to the assigned lead trainer and senior management.
- Requesting and providing information to and from Line Managers.
- Liaising with Line Managers and stakeholders to offer provisional and confirmed places on courses.
- Monitoring and populating the delegate spreadsheet prior to courses.
- Assisting the Higher Executive Officer with medical screening logistics.
- Reporting the allocation of resources (hybrid working).
- Championing wellbeing events via MS Teams Training and Skills Unit (TASU) Channel.
- Providing travel updates via MS Teams.
- Reporting safety issues and procuring equipment and furniture via estates.
- Providing familiarisation and overview sessions to new starters / job shadowing staff around TASU.
- Acquiring of resources (equipment/stationery) and managing an inventory spreadsheet of incoming/outgoing PPE and additional equipment to aid learning.
- Collating and digitising Course Record Books (CRB).
- Taking minutes for team meetings and workforce planning meetings.
- Attending Croydon Campus virtual meetings for updates on Campus activities.
- Reporting updates on ad hoc projects in a fortnightly admin team huddle meetings.
- Managing team mailbox.
- Reporting all offerings via Home Office Learning.
- Reporting statistics on the Training Plan.
- Maintaining SharePoint communications via the SharePoint site, Communication and News Posts.
- Taking Internal room bookings via My Workplace booking systems.
- Building a room booking catalogue to include floorplans and photographs.
- Creating administration packages for all PPST courses.
- Delegate record management including the distribution and removal of access to individual delegate folders.
- Providing data information on completion rates to TASU stakeholders in PPST, Crime and the Learning Hub.
- Conducting a fortnightly data cleanse to reduce discrepancies and gaps on the spreadsheet.
