The Beeches UK vision is providing support and care for children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours, promoting independence, choice and valuing individual uniqueness, diversity and achieving outcomes that matters most to the children and young people we care for.
We are looking for an engaging and positive Team Leader to join our Peterborugh service where we support children and young people aged between 8 - 18 years. Service users may have a complex needs challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and other emotional or social needs.
This is a fast-paced role, you must be flexible in the hours due to the support required. You will work on a rota basis throughout the week, weekends, bank holidays with sleep ins as well.
**No two days are ever the same, sometimes they may be challenging but always positive.**
**What does a Team Leader do?**
- Support the Manager in all aspects of the home’s operation, whilst maintaining positive childcare practice, in keeping with the aims and objectives of the home.
- Provide a safe, warm and supportive environment to our residents whilst being involved in the planning and organisation of the home.
- Maintain a regular recording system in connection with each young person, be involved in the implementation of care plans and assist in the publication of reports when required.
- Attend review and planning meetings when required.
- Assist with the process of development, implementation and review of service policy.
- Ensure when on shift that care staff conduct themselves within the guidelines of the home in line with Policy documents and care plans.
- Delegate tasks to residential care staff and co-ordinate the daily routines of the home and participate in household duties such as cooking, cleaning, gardening and promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Delegate tasks to residential care staff and participate in the general activities of the home such as cycling, swimming, walking, playing games and to use any personal skills you may have to maximise opportunity for each resident.
- Attend regular supervision sessions, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Accept responsibility for such monies as may be required in the carrying out of your duties
- Administer medication to children as required and complete all related paperwork and records.
- Undertake sleeping in duties as required.
- Comply with and adherence to the policies, procedures and practice of the home and to respond to emergencies which may arise within the service.
- Provide a positive role model for colleagues and the young people resident.
- Deal with telephone enquiries and undertake administrative duties as required, (eg: log books, daily information sheets, accident book, incident forms etc.). Maintain case file records, including details of assessment plans, decisions, visits and the implementation and evaluation of action with regard to the care plan.
