This exciting opportunity which focusses on Mental Health and Dementia Care with the Scottish Ambulance Service will require applicants to have a sound working knowledge of Mental Health and Dementia Care services, responsibilities and legislation in Scotland. Applicants will have professional leadership responsibility and knowledge and experience of the current evidence base and national strategic direction of both services at an operational and strategic level. The post holder must have the ability to work with a range of NHS. The post holder must have the ability to work with a range of NHS Board colleagues, Police Scotland and other partner agencies.
The post holder will lead a team of staff responsible for supporting frontline clinical staff in satisfying the organisations responsibilities including Mental Health and Dementia strategy implementation, while working with agencies to support individuals who use services with high intensity, to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.
The role will require coordination of the team and wider Mental Health and Dementia Care activity across the Board, providing assurance of processes and supporting the board in meeting the governance responsibilities in relation to Mental Health and Dementia Care. The post holder will develop a plan in line with strategic goals and deliver these with and through staff and public engagement approaches.
The role will require the preparation of Board level reports and development plans to meet organisational responsibilities in relation to the care of Scottish Ambulance Service patients.
The role is responsible for developing and supporting professional clinical teams across Scotland to strive to improve care in relation to mental health and dementia care, coordinating education, support, advice, developing and coordination of care.
To excel in this role, the post holder will** **work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and will be flexible, open-minded, self-motivated, organised and able to work with a minimum of supervision to achieve goals. This will include managing conflicting priorities and working to deadlines.
