Trainee Mill Operative

We have a rare opportunity for a Trainee Miller to join our multifunctional and hardworking team. The majority of our team have been with the business for several years, therefore bringing a great mix of skills and experience to the business, but more importantly, showing what a good company, it is to work for and assist in building a positive culture.

The business has been expanding with more exciting growth plans in the pipeline, therefore this is an excellent time to join the team and progress with the company. Reporting to the Mill Manager, you will be responsible for the milling of maize based products, and as a member of a small team, adhere to the operation and quality procedures in place.

**Key Tasks**
- Running the Maize mill plant in respect of the machine/plant settings and output: maximising production rates per hour and the production of mixed products.
- Preparation of the raw material, extraction rates, and stocks of finished products to meet all orders.
- Responsible for product safety and quality and completion of paperwork that form part of the operational and quality procedure.
- Maintaining good hygiene and housekeeping standards on a day-to-day basis, on a clean “as you go” basis.

**Skills & Experience**
- Experience working in food production or similar environment.
- Food Safety or Food Hygiene qualifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to organise, plan and prioritise your workload.

You will be required to work on a full rotational 3 shift pattern of 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm or 10pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. Although the final shift may finish on a Saturday morning, you won’t be required to work weekends except if we are busy and ask you to do some overtime.
