**Hours/weeks: 9-10 hrs per week for 36 weeks**
**Salary £26.17 per hour**
The Animal Care & Land-based department at Kirklees College is a high performing section. Learning and assessment in animal care takes place at the award-winning specialist animal care and environmental centre, Taylor Hill. The centre houses over 80+ species and includes aviaries, indoor and outdoor mammal units, reptile unit, aquarium, dog grooming salon and a small area housing livestock. The salon is both a training and commercial unit. Dog grooming is very well established and has trained many of the existing groomers working in the region.
You’ll have a Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Dog Grooming and a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C). It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
