**Vacancy: Senior Consultant (Team Lead)**

Peak Associates Environmental Consultants was founded in 1994 and since then has been working all over the UK on projects in the following areas; river and water pollution, sizing of small sewage works, trade effluent, foul and surface water drainage projects, flood risk, contaminated land and waste.

Our mission is to provide our clients with scientifically based solutions to environmental problems driven by the regulatory sector. In the areas detailed above, we work to obtain permits and consents or discharge conditions relating to them.

**Essential skills required for the role**:

- Project scoping & and an ability to manage your part of the project from conception to completion.
- Analysing desktop data and supporting junior staff in obtaining and analysing such data.
- Leading site investigation and survey work in your specialist area.
- Preparation of technical reports for clients and using these reports and investigations to obtain the regulatory approval required.
- Provide support for junior staff with their work where required.
- You should have, via your experience, developed good organisational and time management skills.
- You should also have good written and verbal communication skills for client liaison and working internally within the team.

**Desirable skills required for the role**:

- Understanding of environmental regulations, planning and legislative regimes relating to our work areas - You may even be working as a regulator and want to do more project work.
- Liaising with consultants over laboratory analysis and requirements.
- General filing and updating appropriate records.
- Managing client relationships.
- Working with consultants, regulators and other stakeholders over their environmental issues and requirements.
- The ability to produce basic plans using Auto CAD or other software would also be an advantage.
- Get involved with the in-house Research and Development programme based at Lancaster University.
- Work within budgets to ensure projects are kept within scoping deadlines or explain why extensions are necessary to clients if needed.
- Lead project and team meeting with colleagues and clients.
- Play an active role in developing their skills and helping develop others as part of our IIIP accredited approach to staff development.

No two projects are the same, and many are cut across disciplines. For these reasons, we are looking for a person who has some expertise in this area, with a desire to widen their experience and the variety of projects they work on. We are looking for someone who wants to widen their horizons, work with a broader team while appreciating that assessing environmental impact is a multi-disciplinary process where team working and continuous learning is part of being a competent environmental consultant.

Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
