**Heathfield (Horsham) is a Residential Care Home for the Elderly, we are seeking a WEEKEND Pantry Assistant working Saturdays and Sundays.**

**To interact with residents and work with the team to maintain the home to a high standard. Keeping to infection control procedures and cleanliness of the pantry, lounge, dining room, entrance and hallway.**

**Typical hours of 8.00am - 2.00pm (6 hours per day)**

**OOverall Objective of Role**

To ensure the clean and hygienic maintenance of Heathfield, thereby contributing to the quality of care and lifestyle afforded to each Resident by maintaining high standards of appearance, cleanliness and a friendly and helpful attitude.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**

1. To prepare tea, coffee, fruit juices and water, etc. and to serve these to Residents and visitors to Heathfield, either in the Lounge or Resident’s rooms and clearing away afterwards.

2. Setting the tables in the dining room in advance of lunch, ensuring that the tables and table mats are clean and presentable and clearing away afterwards.

3. To wash up including utilising the dishwasher (commercial).

4. To wash water jugs in the dishwasher and place them on trays in the dining room with clean glasses ready for distribution.

5. To operate the dishwasher correctly and to keep it clean and well maintained.

6. To wash trays and tray cloths.

7. To check that flower displays and plants in the lounge, dining room have adequate water.

8. To keep the pantry clean, tidy, dry and hygienic, washing the floor, cleaning work surfaces, emptying the rubbish bin and replacing the bin liner.

9. To answer the main door and the telephone and to greet visitors to Heathfield. To take telephone messages and connect calls as appropriate.

10. To report to the Care person-in-charge any instances of breakage or the malfunction of equipment or fittings; or of any dirty or unhygienic conditions encountered.

11. Throughout, to comply with Heathfield’s rules and guidelines on health and safety topics, especially manual handling, hygiene control and infestations, together with the safe use of hazardous substances (COSHH statements).

12. To be a contributing and supportive member of the Heathfield team, fostering good working relationships and helping out in emergencies as required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £13.70 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
