**Job Summary**

**Essential Job Duties**

To assist in the implementation and improvement the HS-MS: including the drafting of HS policies, procedures, guidance, and other information plus the development of training as required. To promote and encourage HS awareness amongst managers and staff byproviding communications, awareness training, and any other suitable means.To prepare monthly and other reports - when needed - including the reporting of key HS performance indicators as required by CHDA HS management. To maintain knowledge of new and amendedlegislation, corporate policies, and procedures which may impact business operations and to advise management accordingly. To help identify, analyse, and resolve generic or significant HS risks and issues arising from local site/project activities, and ensureappropriate risk management plans are implemented. Attendance as required at local site/project HS Management Committee meetings including the proposal of local HS objectives. To ensure adequate HS training is provided for local site/project managers, staff,and sub-contractors, to meet both the minimum HS-MS requirements and any site/project specific needs. To provide advice and consultancy on HS matters to local site/project management and staff as required in response to day to day issues. Liaising as neededto provide advice and support to all site/project HS Advisors, plus ensuring their training to a minimum standard. To liaise when needed with third parties such as clients, suppliers, subcontractors and enforcement agencies regarding HS. To ensure all localsite/project accidents are properly notified, investigated, reviewed and corrective actions are followed up and - when necessary - to participate in investigations of major accidents and incidents. Advise local site/project management on remedial actions required.To audit local site/project HS management to verify compliance with the HS-MS and procedures through inspections and to report on findings. To participate in local site/project HS Management Review meetings to assess the local effectiveness of the HS ManagementSystem and any local HS procedures, and to identify and recommend improvements. To ensure regular updating of personal qualifications including continuous professional development as required.

**Education and Experience Requirements**

NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification
IOSH Certificate plus proven experience in a health and safety role working across multiple sites.

Practical Health and Safety experience in a similar role working across a multi-site operation is essential
Enthusiastic self-starter
Problem resolution and strong reasoning skills with the ability to construct sound and persuasive arguments
Ability to assimilate information quickly from a variety of sources in order to form a coherent fit for purpose Health and Safety Strategy and Programme, across PIP
Ability to prioritize and focus upon key deliverables and activities and manage stakeholders through this
Presence and ability to obtain confidence of relevant internal and external stakeholders
Excellent communication across all channels (verbal, written and telephone) skills with the ability to work across all levels within an organization.
Flexibility & adaptability to changing approach as dictated by business and/or client and/or supply chain partners
Rigorous attention to detail
A focus on delivering quality H&S leadership, direction and solutions as appropriate that fully support the business, Supply chain partners and client as appropriate
Strong influencing and facilitation skills
Creativity and analytical skills

Experience of working in a healthcare environment
