**Job description**

Glebe Kids Nursery in Letchworth is looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Room Leader to work in our 3-4 year-old room. You must hold a full and relevant Childcare Qualification at level 3 or above.

The position would be ideal for a confident and hard-working current Room Leader or senior Practitioner/Deputy Room Leader with ambitions to become a Room Leader. You will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the room and to ensure that the child-led planning is carried out alongside providing interesting and challenging environment for the children to learn and develop.

You will be supporting your team in continuous professional development, ensuring your team are always guided and supported, foster collaboration and assume responsibility for organising your day to day responsibilities with guidance from the manager. You will be required to work closely with the other room seniors to uphold the nursery’s ethos and curriculum.

You will also be a Key Person where you will be responsible for a group of children to ensure their health, care and educational needs are met and plan for their learning and development. As a Key Person you will develop strong relationships with the children, parents and families.

Glebe Kids is a multi-award winning, term time nursery, located in the heart of Letchworth Garden City. We were rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in our most recent inspection in July 2023. Our inspector commented that "parents are overwhelmingly positive about the setting and describe the staff team as ‘incredible'.”You will be joining this incredible team of dedicated and passionate staff where you will also receive employee benefits that include paid term-time bank holidays, full 5.6 weeks holiday entitlement, paid paperwork hours, paid staff meetings, fully paid training/ CPD and a company pension scheme.

Full training will be provided by our current 3 year old Room Leader who will be taking over as manager of the setting. You will be shadowing her for the last few weeks of the summer term, ready to take on the role by yourself in September.

**Job Type**: Term time

Hours: 27-32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (to be agreed at interview stage)

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour

**Experience**:

- You **must** have 5 years in a nursery setting

**Job Duties Summary**:

- Responsible for leading a room team
- Responsible for safeguarding children, ensuring excellent education and childcare
- To maintain a safe, secure and caring environment.
- Responsible for the development & monitoring of high-quality learning and teaching with positive outcomes for the children in the nursery.
- Take an active role within the Nursery Leadership Team and liaise with the Nursery Manager
