Raw Material Technologist

**Role**:Raw Material Technologist

**Site**: Buckie or Arbroath (with the possibility of working from home)

**Shift Pattern**:Monday to Friday between 08.00 - 18.00 (40 hours per week)

**Starting Pay**: £11.68 per hour and overtime paid at 1.5 x rate after 40 hours.

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and develop the existing raw material/supplier approval database.
- Identify potential gaps in due diligence and ensure site information is valid and up to date.
- Request and review raw material specifications from suppliers.
- Request and review Supplier Approval Questionnaires and Chain of Custody maps from customers.
- Respond to any customer supply chain queries in a professional and timely manager.
- Work with the Technical Director to develop a supplier auditing programme at a frequency-based risk.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and improve standards.

**Needs to have or be willing to learn/undertake training**:

- Knowledge of EU and Global Food Safety Standards and Legislation
- Knowledge of Food Hygiene Standards
- Knowledge of Customer Technical Standards in a food-manufacturing environment

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Computer and Microsoft Office literate
- Excellent time management
- Ability to communicate at all levels with the business and with customers/suppliers
