Band 7 - Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist

The Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy service in the team is highly valued. The post holder will focus on providing psychoanalytic psychotherapy to our complex adolescent patients as well as younger children, including care experienced children (see job description for more details). There will be some parent/carer work expected in this role, including, at times, to work alongside our current trainees.

You must be registered with ACP in order to be eligible to apply.

The post holder will be an effective team member and have a commitment to collaborative working. They will actively support and liaise with other health and social care professionals, and agencies. They will receive regular clinical supervision from the Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings.

Child and adolescent psychotherapy is a growing discipline in the Trust at present in line with the Long Term Plan. There is a supportive cohort across the Trust, including trainees from the two London training schools, and several members are also active in the professional body (ACP). There is a fortnightly Trust-wide psychotherapy meeting on a Thursday morning that the post holder would be expected to attend.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
