A critical part of the role will be establishing a centre of expertise across all stages of the data lifecycle. Additionally, the Head of Data Governance will lead an ongoing program of work to create a comprehensive data solution (including software, processes,and people) that facilitates the secure, effective collection and processing of data.

The role is responsible for delivery of an effective framework across the Group, establishing and leading data governance across the organisation and will partner across all areas of AJ Bell to provide a deeper understanding of the data we have at our disposal.
- The following list details some of the data-related areas that can come under the of the Head of Data Governance and affects virtually every aspect of the role, including customers, employees, and third-party stakeholders._
- Managing data governance strategy, practices, and requirements
- Maintains collaborative relationships with business partners & with other teams
- Identifies leverage opportunities where the Data Strategy can provide cost-effective, standard solutions to meet the needs of the AJ Bell businesses
- Establishing firmwide practices that comply with data protection and privacy regulations
- Influencing the organisation, storage, and analysis of strategic, operational and production data incl. liberating siloed data
- Provides input / influence into the analysis, design, and implementation of the AJ Bell Data Warehouse
- Prioritising data quality initiatives that ensure accurate business outcomes and establishing mechanisms that ensure the trustworthiness of data
- Implementing data analytics effectively into business processes
- Promoting data literacy and ownership culture companywide - "everyone is a data steward"
