**The Role**

The **Head of Market Insights** collaborates closely with leaders across the University of London to furnish the market intelligence that is essential for strategic growth planning. This pivotal role focuses on steering data-driven decision-making through the provision of comprehensive market insights, competitor analyses, and consumer trends, thereby helping to shape the University's portfolio development, marketing, and enrolment strategies.

The primary objective is to utilise insights from both internal and external sources to guide the enhancement of online, hybrid, and face-to-face portfolios. The overarching vision is to craft a globally comprehensive offering that capitalises on the University of London brand and the unique identities of its Federation Members.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct and commission in-depth market research globally and regionally to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in higher education.
- Monitor and analyse the competitive landscape to discern strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Regularly update stakeholders on competitor strategies, programme offerings, and marketing approaches and makes recommendations for next steps.
- Stay current on evolving consumer behaviours and trends in education, technology, and online learning and make recommendations related to impact on trends to the University of London.
- Collaborate with others to translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, programme development, outreach, international partnerships and business growth.
- Oversee the collection, organisation, and analysis of data related to enrolment, student demographics, and marketing performance across a set of competitors working with Data Insights.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity, leveraging internal and external data sources (Google, HESA, IPEDS, EAB).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including academic departments, admissions, and technology teams, aligning market insights with University objectives.
- Collaborate with external partners as agreed, including with Federation Member planning and insight teams, Programme Directors and marketing teams
- Provide guidance to ensure marketing and enrolment efforts align with market dynamics.
- Proactively influence plans and decisions through market insights, research and intelligence.
- Prepare and deliver insightful reports and presentations for University leadership and federation member partners, spotlighting key market trends, competitive analysis, and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.

This role works closely with the Director of Online Education, Director of Business Development, Director of Strategic Communications, Marketing and Recruitment, Director of Student Support, Director of Student Operations, Business Intelligence and Planning functions as well as Marketing and Data teams.

**Further Information**

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
