We are looking for an exceptional, dynamic & innovative Occupational Therapist to contribute to an effective occupational therapy service to meet the needs of our Client.

**Job Purpose**:
Ensure that individuals remain at the heart of their work and they will empower vulnerable adults to make choices and to maintain their own autonomy wherever possible. Ensure that the needs of family members, carers, groups and providers of care are understoodand will work with them towards ensuring that vulnerable adults receive the appropriate support (which is the least restrictive option) whilst recognising the need for intervention at times. Ensure that vulnerable and/or disadvantaged people are supportedappropriately; they will make decisions that are in accordance with relevant policy guidance. They will deploy the correct use of legislation aimed at maintaining the independence of vulnerable adults and assist them to maximising their own abilities and networksof support.

**The Occupational Therapist key duties and responsibilities will be**:

- Ensure that assessments are accurate and that users are able to self-direct the assessment process and make informed decisions.
- Take a professional lead role in triage, screening, and professional assessment of occupational and environmental outcomes for adults.
- Undertake moving & handling assessments, recommending appropriate equipment and giving guidance to individual’s and their carers on safe techniques within the home environment.
- Ensure that all commissioning is undertaken that provides users with appropriate levels of support whilst further ensuring that the user and council receive best value for money and that services that are committed appropriate reflect eligible needs andtake into account available resources.
- Ensure effective crisis intervention work by drawing on a range of local knowledge and using professional experience to make decisions that uphold autonomy whilst recognising the occupational therapy role for safe intervention.
- Play a leading role within a range of multi-agency teams to ensure co-ordinated, appropriate assessments and support that remain person cantered and enable users to maintain their independence, achieve their outcomes and play a valued and active part inthe community wherever possible.

**To work as an Occupational Therapist in this unique role you will need**:

- Valid HCPC Pin
- Right to Work in the UK
- Previous experience in Social or Health Care setting, relating to services for disabled adults.
- Experience of delivering OT assessment and intervention for Clients with complex needs.
