- FAPVCRKESS-X2As Associate Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange you will work closely with the Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor to develop and deliver our research and knowledge exchange strategy and enhance the researcher experience, driving transformational change in research culture and performance. The progress of the research strategy will be measured with our agreed set of research and knowledge exchange KPIs.

You will work collaboratively with school Directors of Research and Knowledge Exchange, as well as colleagues from other faculties and professional services, to develop policies and practice, and deliver major initiatives that will: drive improvements in research funding and outcomes; promote research excellence amongst our research community; and deliver high standards in response to key performance indicators and metrics.

You must be able to demonstrate effective leadership and have a proven track record of successful management, both strategically and operationally of a faculty, school, department or other academic Unit, as well as a good knowledge of research and knowledge exchange activities and management structures.

With the ability to drive and develop a culture of inclusion and excellence, you will have the interpersonal skills to negotiate, influence, and motivate others and ensure the vision and values of the University are achieved.

You must be a confident presenter with the ability to communicate in a large range of formal and informal settings. Strong analysis, judgement and problem solving will be key to success.

With a recognised profile of significant personal achievement in leading large research projects, and a credible publication record, you will have good knowledge of the University and its research and knowledge exchange activities, and management structures, as well as an understanding of the issues facing the sector.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity, to act as an effective ambassador for the Faculty and University and to show your commitment to enhancing the quality and reputation of our research portfolio and achievements.

This is a permanent professorial appointment within the Faculty of Social Sciences but with the first 4 years as APVC for RKE on a 0.5 FTE - 0.8 FTE basis, with the possibility of renewal for a second term. The role-holder will receive a leadership payment.
