Overview of a Commercial Legal Assistant
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Commercial Legal Assistant within a Commercial setting to join an expanding team. The role of Commercial Legal Assistant has a competitive pay rate of £14.21 - £18.13per hour.Other benefits include excellent training and support for career development and 21 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).
The Main Purpose of Commercial Legal Assistant:

- To support HB Public Law by carrying out legal work and developing, implementing, and supporting cutting edge practice management processes.
- To advise on, and have conduct of, legal files for property, contracts, planning, employment, governance, and regeneration related matters on behalf of the shared service councils and other clients.
- To support a team of lawyers covering some of the following commercial work such as property, planning, regeneration, contracts, and procurement.
- To provide advice /undertake research and support lawyers as requested in respect of the work of the teams generally.
- Clerking Education Exclusion Panel meetings and assisting with training of panel members and officers which can take place outside of normal office hours and off site.
- To ensure that the service provided is (a) responsive to corporate and customer requirements, (b) provides value for money to the highest professional standard and complies with excel requirements.
About you, the successful Commercial Legal Assistant will have:

- General knowledge of English law, practice and procedure in property, planning, regeneration, contracts, and procurement areas.
- At least 6-month experience working in a legal environment.
- Experience in providing written and oral legal advice and guidance to officers/clients.
- Experience in conducting a caseload with minimum supervision covering at least one of the following areas: property, planning, regeneration, contracts, and procurement matters.
- Experience in providing legal advice or training in a public setting.
