Goods Inwards Operative

Based at our plant nursery in Gedney Hill, Spalding, you will support the company’s stock and purchasing activities across the nursery and warehouse. This is a key role to the business as you will be the first person to see our products before they enter the business and will be the gate-keeper of quality.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck (where qualified)
- Receiving parcels/deliveries.
- Unpacking and checking deliveries against delivery paperwork.
- Checking for Plant quality and that the required plant passport or phytosanitary certificate has accompanied the delivery.
- Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
- Checking deliveries against purchase orders.
- Correctly locating stock in the Bin locations.
- Recording stock receipts on the company’s IT system / WMS.
- Raising and highlighting any variance between orders and deliveries.
- Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely (especially chemicals and food) and labelled correctly and safely (especially chemicals and food).
- Assisting with the distribution of products round the site and standing down.
- Ensuring that other departments within the company are kept up to date, including Buying, nursery, and production.
- The opening and closing of all site gates and sheds at the start and end of day if you are first or last on site (where keys have been issued)
- Reporting to the Stock Control Co-Ordinator for other daily task associated to the efficient running of the area.
