Job title: Project Manager
Location: Bristol (in office 2-3 times per month, occasional travel to London or Edinburgh)
Contract length: 6 months (project length of 12-15 months, extensions in place to facilitate)
Pay rate: Circa £525 per day (inside IR35)

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Servicing Value Stream as part of the Core Banking & Payments Lab. The Lab is leading a portfolio of projects that will further enhance our new strategic payments platform for both existing and new clientsyet to be onboarded. The Project Manager leads their delivery team to ensure the fundamentals of Project Management excellence are achieved, this includes analysis, governance, planning to manage finances and delivering value. As a PM of the Future, they shouldrole model a desire to develop their skills and experience, create space to learn and collaborate, demonstrate resilience and adaptability, confidence, and a desire to innovate and test new ideas. The Project Manager will understand, embrace and be able toselect with confidence the most appropriate tools and methods to deliver change. They should strive to build relationships across role communities, change teams and business areas to maximise opportunities for continuous improvement through shared learnings.Coaching others in their team to achieve delivery excellence is also a key part of the role.
Key Accountabilities:

- Take ownership for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organization and/or conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems.
- Meet customer needs related to standard products and services and/or supervises a team of customer advisors.
- Grow own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and develops the capabilities of direct reports by working within existing development framework; provides specialised training or coaching in area of expertise to othersthroughout the organisation.
- Identify shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management programme with guidance from a project/programme manager.
- Deliver prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems.
- Deliver outcomes by leading others and working within established systems.
- Set short term objectives and helps handle the performance of direct reports by working within performance management systems.
- Deliver own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established programme management plan.
- Investigate standard and non-routines incidents and reports and provides authoritative advice to more senior colleagues while coordinating with all internal functions to facilitate effective implementation of compliance programmes to minimize risk exposuresand ensure adherence with regulatory standards.
- Deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area, using risk management systems to ensure the organisation is not exposed to undue risks.
- Achieve planned commitments by developing short-term and/or medium-term work schedules and approving overtime or using additional resources as needed.
Desired skills/experience
- Experience within Payments and/or Open Banking
- Previous project management roles within a commercial banking environment would be ideal
- History of transformation/change projects, specifically within IT as opposed to Business projects
- "General" project management skills, i.e., knowledge of full project lifecycles, from inception to delivery, management of risks, senior stakeholder management, setting and managing deadlines etc
- Experience in new systems/technology implementation/delivery, including testing and readiness activities
