**JOB BACKGROUND**:
Reds in the Community are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and well
- qualified Education Tutor to deliver Further and Higher Education Sport courses. This vacancy is open to newly qualified as well as experienced teachers.
You will be working in a professional football club environment and you are expected to plan and deliver engaging lessons in the classroom and be responsible for assessing learner’s work in accordance with the awarding body guidelines.
As an employed member of staff at Reds in the Community, you will be entitled to statutory holidays, that include bank holidays, as well as adopting a flexible working policy. You will be required to teach a maximum of 24 hours, attend regular meetings, be part of learner enrichment programmes as well as manage your own time efficiently to plan, prepare and assess.
Reds in the Coomunity provides a bespoke, high-quality education and training programme specialising in the delivery of accredited sports-based qualifications in further and higher education. Our aim is to prepare students for a successful career in the football and wider sports industries.
We offer a very stimulating curriculum to all our learners. As part of the learning environment, we offer ICT equipped classrooms utilising modern technology and offering each learner their own personal virtual classroom platform. All lessons both theoretical and practical are based in the grounds of Oakwell. In addition, within our programmes of study we welcome professional guest speakers such as first team players and staff as well as organised trips, visits and rewards as part of positive behaviour policy.
**JOB PURPOSE**:
- To deliver outstanding courses which meet learner needs, use a range of diverse teaching and learning strategies, allow learners to access a comprehensive range of resources and provide comprehensive assessment opportunities.
- To complete and maintain effective data in relation to learners including, attendance, individual learner targets, progression, achievement and destination.
- To maximise learner recruitment, retention and success through the provision of an outstanding educational experience which enables learners to maximise their potential.
- To be responsible for a course (s) of study and learner outcomes.
- To facilitate the best learning environment to maximise the learner experience.
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- To effectively plan and prepare in a timely manner and teach on a range of courses, to mark and assess students' work including portfolio-based assessments and examinations.
- Planning of schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans, where appropriate and ensuring schemes of work incorporate Equality & Diversity, English, Maths, Differentiation (support, stretch & challenge), Safeguarding, World of Work/Employability, Information & Learning Technologies and wider learning.
- Provide effective teaching, learning and assessment as appropriate, ensuring resource material and teaching is of a high quality and reflects best practice as measured by retention, attendance, success rates, grades and value added.
- Participate in the recruitment of new learners which includes promoting, interviewing, enrolment and induction.
- Deliver a wide range of lessons including study programme specific, tutorial, enrichment, careers/employability, and progression.
- Promote the importance of embedding Maths and English through on-going marking and assessment of maths and English during the programme of study.
- To be responsible for a course / class (s) of study and be the key contact for specified courses for the Awarding body.
- Provide on-going assessment and feedback to learners by setting and marking work which is both relevant and appropriate to the programme of study ensuring learners are prepared for exams and assessments.
- To ensure the local environment, classrooms and learning hubs are maintained to a satisfactory level, ensuring that notice boards and displays are kept up-to-date and any defaults with equipment or furniture are reported promptly to management.
