**About the role**

Cleverchefs are a multi award winning catering company that is passionate about fresh food but also passionate about safe food and allergen compliance. We are looking for a food safety officer to oversee and manage the compliance of our food safety procedures, nutrition, health and safety including allergens over multiple sites across the south of the UK.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deliver the Health & Safety operational strategy for Cleverchefs sites and epic caterers sites.
- Lead a positive quality culture at Cleverchefs, maintaining our quality and control practices into our operational activities to improve outcomes for clients and ensure we are working as effectively as possible.
- Lead investigations into any breaches of safety and/or quality and to implement resulting actions.
- Manage our food allergen and labeling compliance across the business.
- Create and host workshops company wide to our team members.
- audit at site level and keep a record of sites internal scores

**Role Responsibilities**
- Deliver Health & Safety initiatives, training, communications and practices across the company in a systematic and effective way.
- Influence and coach across different levels in the company ensuring engagement and development in relation to Health & Safety practice and performance.
- Work with operations and food colleagues to provide professional advice, assess risk and implement tailored solutions to deliver Health & Safety standards at individual sites.
- Monitor Health & Safety legislation changes and ensure the business has systems and procedures in place to meet emerging legal compliance and other requirements.
- Direct an integrated audit programme covering Health & Safety, Quality and Control.
- Own relationships with external auditors and assessors for Health & Safety, Quality and Control and related activities, and ensure achievement of formal accreditations.
- Provide regular and ad hoc reporting to Cleverchefs Senior Leadership on Health & Safety, Quality and Control and related matters.
- Create and maintain suitable electronic records of all activities in your area of work.
- Any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the role

**Person Specification**
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or be studying to achieve)
- Experience of managing Health & Safety in a complex environment, ideally within contract catering at client sites
- Experience in engaging and liaising with all levels of an organisation to create cultural change on safety and quality
- Experience of formal reporting to senior leadership, including effective presentation of risk assessment and recommendations
- Experience with the implementation and continuous assessment of ISO 9001 standards in a way that delivers organisational improvement and development
- Superb communication and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge without creating conflict
- Attention to detail.
- Comprehensive knowledge of company Health & Safety regulations and case law, as well as related elements such as relevant employment law
- Valid driving licence and access to vehicle to travel when required.
