**Salary**: £45000 - £50000 per annum plus O/T (£25.00 p/h for over 40hrs)

**Job Type**:Permanent, Full Time

**Working Hours**: This is a hands-on bench-based role, core hours of 40 per week, with additional hours frequently required involving evenings and weekends according to the seasonal needs of the business. Hours will follow the working patterns of the workshop
**The Company**:

All work is undertaken in house at our Kent headquarters by our experienced team who have been working on exhibition stands and trade fairs for a number of years, bringing both expertise and the latest trends to every project. **The Position**:
ESM Ltd are recruiting a Workshop Foreman to lead our workshop team at our busy workshop facility in Sittingbourne Kent. This role is a bench based role, and only experienced joiners will be considered. Applicants should be proficient at all aspects of bench joinery and be able to laminate/veneer to a high standard. The Workshop Foreman will be responsible for mentoring and leading the production team of joiners, carpenters, and machinists, distributing daily tasks and liaising with workshop management on all aspects of training, plant and machinery maintenance and stock control to ensure the workshop has everything it needs daily to function smoothly whilst at the same time spending much of their day producing their own work. The Workshop Foreman will be the first point of contact for questions and queries from the shopfloor and will look to escalate these in the most efficient way to workshop management.

This role will be based within the workshop, involving hands-on manufacture as well as managing the workshop team. Liaising closely with the Production Manager and Workshop manager, to ensure the correct workflow through the workshop and in compliance with all company procedures
A Joinery background is essential, as well as some experience in performance management and leadership of teams.

**Key responsibilities will include**:
Time management and delegation of all workshop tasks with monitoring of staff until completion
Identify training needs for workshop manager to organise
Identify plant and machinery needs and maintenance needs, for workshop manager to organise
Identify material and component stock needs, for workshop manager to organise
To maintain morale of workshop staff and team building activities
On the job coaching and training of all workshop personnel
Signing-off of loading lists before vehicles leave for site
Opening and closing of workshop on a daily basis, or ensure management cover if not possible for any reason
Ensure sufficient correct information flows through from project management to shop floor
Bench carpentry and joinery to manufacture of exhibition stand or joinery components as required
