**Trainee Sales Assistant at Build Depot Ltd **based at the Larkhall, South Lanarkshire. A great opportunity has become available for a new member of staff to join our internal sales team as we continue to expand our independent and family-run business.

Are you currently working in a timber, plumbing or builders’ merchant and would like a move into the sales side of the business or are you already in sales and would like to explore this position as someone with existing experience? Then this is the position for you.

We are one of Scotland’s fastest growing timber and builders' merchants having been acquired by the M&J Group in December 2019 with other locations in Scotland, more than doubling the size of our organisation. We have ambitious branch and Group plans in the months and years ahead.

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated person, who can thrive in this fast paced and rewarding position with opportunities for progression within the business and wider Group. We are part of one of the UK’s largest Buying Groups, enabling us to compete effectively within our industry, whilst retaining our independent ethos.

Tasks will include:

- Provide customer service and advise on the array of products and services of the company
- Manage existing and new customer accounts
- Process Quotations, Sales Orders and Purchase Orders
- Asses each customer / client's needs ensuring that they have the correct materials for their order
- Maximise sales opportunities by up-selling
- Merchandising
- Adhere to all company procedures and policies on customer satisfaction & health and safety
- Hours of work, Monday to Friday. Typical starts, 07.30am - 4.30pm & alternative Saturdays 8am - 1pm.

**Experience**:

- Sales/Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
