To provide an effective day-to-day clerical support to facilitate the smooth running of the Endoscopy admissions services on a day-to-day basis under the direction and supervision of senior colleagues. This job role covers: data entry to facilitate patient procedure and outpatient appointment booking, the movement of case-notes around the trust and reception duties.

To provide a quality Endoscopy Service within the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust by ensuring the most effective use of resources and meeting Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation standards. The administration support sits in two units within Worthing and St Richard’s Hospitals; therefore the admin staff are expected to work within both units.

Make all referral appointments in accordance with the templates and in line with Trust and JAG
dictated RTT, diagnostic and planned surveillance waiting times. To negotiate with patients to book a
suitable appointment, dealing sympathetically in sometimes difficult situations whilst adhering to booking processes.
Answer the telephone in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring appointments made efficiently whilst dealing with the public in a professional and sensitive manner.
To provide a reception service for patients attending appointments.
Demonstrate professional and helpful sensibilities when interacting with other staff members, especially the clinical teams and secretaries.

Deal with enquires and issues escalated to them in an efficient, polite and courteous manner, providing a caring compassionate, helpful and understanding service to patients, staff and the general public
Handle difficult situations in a calm and professional manner; escalating to line management as appropriate.

Follows departmental and Trust policies.

Take shared responsibility for ordering and maintaining of stationary requirements as requested
Take shared responsibility for the collection preparation of and maintenance of patient case notes for clinics/theatres.
To provide case notes for validation and audit.
