Our client a growing organisation in Thurrock is looking for an experienced **Transport Planner** to join their team on a permanent basis. Based within this fast paced transport office you will need knowledge of WTD, drivers' hours, tachographs and transport legislation and outstanding organisational and communication skills.

As Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning drivers' routes and delivery schedules and updating plans to fit the business needs.

**Responsibilities will include:

- Manage the delivery operation process efficiently
- Daily input of KPI's, delivery and collection issues, preparing paperwork
- Prioritise workload and deal with a demanding transport plan, planning for multiple customers for next day and same day deliveries
- Meet transport legislation commitments
- Promote and adhere to, good health and safety practices.
- Monitor fleet maintenance requirements and liaise with the fleet department
- Continue own personal development to keep abreast of technical, legal and training best practice
- Liaise with Customers to help facilitate best practice for them

**Skills and experience required:

- **
- Previous experience of working in a busy fast paced transport office as a UK Transport Planner is essential
- Knowledge of WTD, drivers' hours, tachographs and transport legislation
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks using your own initiative
- Ability to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
- Conversant with Word, Excel and CRM systems
- Must have analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail

The working hours for this role are 9.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
