**The Role**:

- Lead on commercial negotiations of all new and existing Homes contracts in collaboration with Operational and Procurement Teams, ensuring effective and commercial cost control.
- To identify improved, innovative and more economical ways of delivering services whilst preventing waste.
- Manage and foster long term strategic relationships within the supply chain with key partners and suppliers.
- Ensure all areas of operational responsibility are shaped by the businesses key values.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Contribute to the delivery of the corporate and assets strategy to ensure organisational service direction and strategic objective targets are met.
2. Lead on the management of cost control, reviewing multiple national contracts and projects circa £30m p/a in order to influence and drive commercial change in efficient delivery.
3. Monitor contract / project costs and make recommendations on removing / preventing waste and better, more economical ways of delivering contract services and projects, including real digital innovation.
4. Lead on cost benchmarking/development, proactively challenging through value engineering and effective project reviews for national contracts and projects.
5. Contribute to the development of long-term strategic relationships with our key partners to create shared value.
6. Act as Homes lead on new contract negotiations with Procurement to add value and drive efficiencies through intelligent, creative and strategic procurement.
7. Support Operations colleagues with the valuation of contract variations and claims
8. Support the procurement team with commercial and contractual issues
9. Support delivery team with contractual performance issues
10. Be proactive in resolution management.
11. Embedding and sustaining key values across all national contracts so that values are aligned and all parties have the opportunity to create social and economic value.
12. Lead on the building and management of sustainable and meaningful partnerships so that our contractors are resilient, and profitable whilst delivering good quality services in the way our
customers expect.

**What we need from you**:
1. Proven experience of developing long term strategic partnerships and embedding key values with stakeholders.
2. Proven experience of working with national multi-disciplined teams and supply chains across a wide geographical area.
3. Highly developed communication skills with excellent communication skills both written and oral, and the ability to speak articulately and confidently.
4. Ability to employ software to analyse information and use data effectively to inform decision making.
5. Ability to resolve conflict successfully.
6. Proven experience of driving costs down whilst improving economic and social value.
7. High level of influencing and negotiating skills.
8. Track record of achieving measurable and significant savings and performance improvements.
9. Financial management involving budgeting and costings.
10. Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
11. Excellent influencing, negotiation and leadership skills.
12. Excellent networking and collaboration skills.
13. Highly skilled in assessing information and devising and implementing appropriate solutions.
14. A full UK driving license with the ability to drive as and when required by the business.
