An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team in Colchester. As an integral part of our secondary schools, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. **Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-to-one support or work with small groups to assist students with SEMH needs.
- Facilitate access to the curriculum and contribute to the development of social and emotional skills.
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO and school staff to maintain a safe and nurturing environment.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience working with students who have SEMH needs.
- A solid understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
- Successful completion of background safe recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
