An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Therapy Team Leader across our community beds. This role is for an Occupational Therapist who wishes to take on a leadership and clinical role and will support the day to day running of the therapy team alongside leading service transformation.

We are looking for applicants who are forward thinking, enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for leadership as well as clinical excellence. The successful applicant will co-lead a therapy team of OT’s, PT’s, Assistant Practitioners and therapy assistants.

This role will be responsible for the operational management of the community beds therapy team on a day to day basis
This role will work closely with our Community Beds Health and Care Leadership Team that work across our Intermediate Care and Discharge to Assess Beds to ensure the delivery of a safe and high quality service.
Using your own initiative, ability to prioritise and excellent organisation skills are all a prerequisite for this post.
This role will be responsible for maintaining training, appraisals, supervision with the team as well as leading on service development projects and having a thorough working knowledge of the team’s clinical caseload in order to provide clinical support to the team and ensure flow.
An element of the role will also include a clear focus on integration within the community beds with our colleagues across Bolton FT, Bolton Council and excellent communication is vital.

- To work as an autonomous practitioner within the service being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work
- To manage a complex caseload, using evidence based, client centred principles to provide highly specialised assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation and co
- ordination of therapy intervention, for complex physical and psychological conditions in the most appropriate setting.
- To initiate your own continued professional development through researching best practice, networking with colleagues and seeking training opportunities and support/ clinical supervision sessions.
- To be responsible for training, supervision and appraisal for all staff in specialist area and to be responsible for the training and performance management of therapy students.
- To identify, initiate and implement service development.
- To provide highly specialist knowledge, skills and advice to clients, and be a source of expertise for therapy staff, other members of the MDT and other agencies.
- Provide specialist training to both therapists and other professionals as required.
- To lead a specialist area of clinical expertise and propose service changes which may impact on the wider MDT and ensure safe delivery of a quality service.
- To be accountable for the delivery of specialist skills within professional area.
- To support the Community Bed Based Leadership team as required.
