Clinical Coder and Summariser

Previous experience in clinical coding and summarising is essential.

The following are the core responsibilities of the practice administrator. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Read Coding data on Docman10

b. Extracting the required data from clinical correspondence and inputting the data into the patient’s electronic healthcare record

c. Coding all secondary care (hospital) letters

d. Monitoring patient call and recall systems

e. Maintain effective security of data all times

f. Support the team in the effective use of searches, audits and recalls

g. Support the team in the use of the clinical system

h. Provide guidance in trouble shooting when requested

i. Act as a liaison between the practice and manage all fault reporting

j. Configure searches and interpret data for audit purposes

k. Summarise patients notes when requested

l. Initiate data quality improvement projects

m. Collate the required data for reporting purposes

n. Ensure new patient records are received electronically and imported onto the clinical system

To ensure data is made readily available by using Emis GP clinical system and Docman10 software updating the patient computer medical records in a timely and accurate manner.
