We’re looking for a payroll administrator to join our team at Woodbury and help us continue to provide the great internal service we’re so well known for.

**About the role**

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day tasks involved in running a variable complex payroll of approximately 700 team members, submission of statutory returns and reconciliation.

**The key responsibilities will be**:

- End to end processing of complex payroll activities on a monthly basis
- Taking ownership of one or more of the payrolls, ensuring all necessary tasks have been performed
- Completing all payroll processing tasks, ensuring processing checklists are complete
- Providing support and assistance to the Finance Manager in implementing new policies and initiatives
- Responding to queries from team members and third parties in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements; PAYE, P11d, P45s, FPS, EPS including timeliness of submissions and payments and HMRC liaison where necessary
- Preparation of ad hoc reports and statistics for management, completing statistical information, year-end information, including ONS surveys, seasonal work patterns, Gender Pay reporting
- To stay abreast of payroll developments, following policies and procedures and updating these on an annual basis.
- Maintain complete confidentiality over all personal information held and have regard to the Data Protection Act.

**The essential skills and qualifications we need are**:

- Experience in large computerised payroll
- Knowledge of HMRC filing requirements
- Knowledge of Pension compliance
- Competent in payroll administration
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic level of GCSE’s - Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent

**And ideally you will have**:

- Knowledge of financial systems specifically Sage 50 Payroll, Sage 200 and Deputy
- CIPP qualifications
